The Old Stone Church Early Learning Center is a non-profit, non-sectarian school celebrating over 50 years of service to East Haven and the surrounding communities. It is located in the educational wing of the church and is operated by the Old Stone Church Board of Finance, Buildings and Grounds. The school is licensed by the State of Connecticut Office of Early Childhood Education. The E.L.C. consists of Pre-K programs for three, four and five year olds. There are various extended hour programs available listed below. We believe that the Early Learning Center should be a happy and positive experience which will give the child a good social and educational foundation in their early years. Our goal is to help each child develop in his or her own special way by building self-confidence and helping them to discover their own interests and abilities. Each child is different and we strive to recognize these differences. The Connecticut State Department of Education is our guide.

  • At the Early Learning Center, children learn to use colors and shapes and their printed name, among other things. But the most important things they learn are to get along with other children, share toys, take their turn, listen to the teachers and follow directions. The five-year-old program is a little more structured and builds on the above.
